Pennsylvania State Police were at the rural compound of Fethullah Gülen, the U.S.-based Islamic preacher, on Wednesday to investigate an unspecified incident, according to the reports.
Police left a little while later, the WNEP local news channel reported. A security guard at the compound had fired a warning shot at a suspected armed intruder who then fled, a spokesman for Gülen said. No one is believed to be injured, the spokesman said.
Fethullah Gülen, had been a close ally of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's AKP government. CIA-linked Gülen network, which had been organised in the police, judiciary, military and the other states institutions, helping Erdoğan to redesign and install his Islamic-rooted AKP party in power in 2002. But his alliance with the AKP has faltered in recent years. On 15 July 2016, the network of Gülen attempted to topple down Erdoğan by a military coup but it failed.
Gülen lives in the US, while Ankara demands his extradition to Turkey.
