The head of the Turkish presidency's Defense Industries Directorate, Ismail Demir, evaluated the latest situation on the tension between Turkey and the US over the F-35s and patriots in a TV program.
Demir, who made statements in the NTV live broadcast, said, "We do not agree with the arguments that the F-35 and S-400 cannot be present in the same place."
Demir also stated that they hope to return to the F-35 project.
Evaluating the F-35 crisis with the United States, Demir said "we will seek our rights in any environment. There is a job description in the memorandum of understanding. Four of the aircraft were delivered to Turkey and they are now Turkish aircraft. The due date for the delivery of two of them has arrived, they are being kept in storehouses. We started the preparatory work for delivery."
The U.S. has suspended Turkey’s ability to buy the F-35 fighter jet following Ankara's decision to start receiving the parts for the Russian S-400 system.
