The United Arab Emirates' (UAE) State Minister for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash said that Qatar has, along with Turkey, played a major role in turning the Syrian crisis into a full-scale armed conflict and a long lasting war, Fort Russ reported.

In a statement, while visiting Britain, Qarqash stressed that there is a need to carefully monitor the ongoing diplomatic crisis between Qatar and some of the remaining Gulf Cooperation Council states and Egypt, expressing his belief that pressure exerted on Doha has finally started to “bear fruit”, adding that historically, Qatar has always been funding terrorism at the highest level, the report said.

He then called on Qatari leadership to cease its support for extremist organisations, noting that a regional solution and an international monitoring of the situation are needed.
“We want to make sure that Qatar, a country with a monetary reserve of $ 300 Billion, no longer sponsors any of the jihadist groups “, Qarqash was heard saying, though not giving any details on the proposed monitoring of the situation, it added.
