The Women Bureau of the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) announced that they will organize meetings in Ankara, Istanbul, Izmir, and Antalya on March 8, the International Working Women's Day.

The statement calling on the working women to join the struggle and solidarity said: "The struggles won and the rights achieved in these lands will not be handed over to reactionism. In the country we are going to build, our struggle will be told not because of how we resisted, but because we did not surrender and we won.”

The full statement is as follows:

"We do not settle for less or the lesser evil!

A socialist country will rise in the hands of women!

We will build such a country that hunger and poverty will be prohibited. Nobody will despise anyone, and nobody will devalue anyone's labor.

We will build such a country that no woman will ever be murdered, exploited by her boss, or subjected to pressure because of what she wears.

We will establish such a country that there will be no discrimination against women, every rights of women will be guaranteed. The cheerful chirps of our children will be heard from other countries.

The struggles won and the rights achieved in these lands will not be handed over to reactionism. In the country we are going to build, our struggle will be told not because of how we resisted, but because we did not surrender and we won.

We will build such a country in which they will say “There was no other way, how nice it is, socialism suited Turkey very well,”

Long live March 8! Long live solidarity!"
