Police officers on Saturday pulled a gun on the group distributing leaflets against the presidential constitution amendments that would greatly expand the powers of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Local media reported that police officers intimidated a group distributing leaflets against Erdoğan's presidency in Kadıköy district of İstanbul. Among the three people taken into custody, two of them have been reported members of socialist parties Party of Labour, Turkey (EMEP) and Revolutionary Party.

Photos of a police officer pulling a gun on the group distributing leaflets against Erdoğan's presidency have been released. It has been claimed that a police officer held a gun to Gözde Tenikeci's head while taking her into custody.

The government has been systematically pressurizing people opposing Erdoğan's presidency. Last week, 42 members of TKP (Communist Party of Turkey) were taken into custody in Ankara for distributing leaflets against the constitutional amendment package.
