Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koca announced last night the first confirmed coronavirus case in Turkey. According to the minister's announcement, the patient is a male Turkish citizen and was placed in quarantine.

The Minister did not give the information on where the citizen is currently.

The fact that there were no cases officially announced so far in Turkey has been questioned by the public since nearly all neighboring countries were in a state of epidemic crisis. The Turkish government suggests personal hygiene and no international travel if not necessary for now.

"Neighboring countries have not taken the measures we have taken. The outbreaks have inevitable sides," Koca said.
