Pro-Kurdish HDP had announced earlier that the party would discuss pulling its MPs from the parliament and withdrawing from the local assemblies following the AKP government's appointment of trustees instead of dozens of elected HDP mayors.

HDP yesterday announced that the party would not leave the parliament and local assemblies and called for an early election. The pro-Kurdish party also called on the opposition to unite for early elections.

Saying it had paid “heavy prices” to achieve gains, HDP stated that it “will not withdraw from any area of struggle”.
