A meeting of representatives of Turkey, Russia, Germany and France to discuss preparation of a summit between the leaders of these countries on Syria will be held in Istanbul on September 14, Turkish presidential spokesman Ibrahim Kalın said on Tuesday.

"A quadrilateral meeting between representatives of Turkey, Russia, France, and Germany will be held in Istanbul on September 14. This is a preliminary meeting to prepare the agenda of the summit, which is still in the draft. We will propose the leaders to agree on it, and we will determine the time when the main negotiations will be held. The goal is to discuss regional problems, first of all, Syria. We believe that this mechanism will be productive," Kalın told reporters.
