TKP suggests urgent nationalization for collapsing healthcare system

Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) has released a statement, suggesting urgent nationalization of the healthcare system in which the problems have been increasing with the pandemic.

Following the meeting of the Council of Ministers, the new practices announced by Turkey’s President Erdoğan in the name of fighting against the pandemic caused controversy. The new rules reveal that government is mostly interested in maintaining the business capacity of the private sector. 

In a recent statement, the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) suggests “nationalization of the health sector” as a solution to inextricable problems of the healthcare system.

In order for advanced age group and individuals of all ages who need special care to receive equal, widespread, and qualified supportive care...

In order for health workers to be provided a work environment with no violence with fair wages and ethical values, without performance system or cost concern...

In order for all health workers including doctors, technicians, nurses, dentists, laboratory workers to be educated in qualified institutions and subjected to continuing vocational training...

In order for every individual to access medicine and treatment equally and for free, and in order for pharmaceutical and technology production to be independent of profit motive...

In order to lead scientific studies and production for healthcare according to the needs of society, not the market...

In order for the whole society to access healthy housing, schools, and workplaces; to live in healthy environments without fears for the future...

In order for unscientific so-called treatment methods and reactionary methods not to threaten human health...

ALL STEPS OF HEALTHCARE, INCLUDING PROTECTIVE, CURATIVE AND SUPPORT SERVICES, ESPECIALLY PRIVATE HOSPITALS, HEALTH EDUCATION, PHARMACEUTICAL, TECHNOLOGY AND INFORMATION PRODUCTION MUST BE COMPLETELY NATIONALIZED AND MADE FREE OF CHARGE
