Suspected organizer of Taksim bombing, Islamic State militant released

After a suicide bomber attack in Taksim, İstanbul, in March 16, 2016, that killed 3 Israel citizens, one Iran citizen and wounded 44 others, 5 Islamic State suspects arrested.

One of the arrested suspects, Erkan Ç., has been released with the excuse of that he has health problems after the latest trial on March 10, 2017.

‘I HAVE ATTENDED THE MEETINGS LED BY ISLAMIC FIGURES’

It is informed that Erkan Ç., who has released after the latest trial repeated his previous defence. His brother, Ercan Ç., stated that he has no links with the bombing attack and Islamic State. “I have never exited from the country legally or illegally. I have never used another name different than my real name. I have attended the meetings of Kadiri sect in Gaziantep. I also attended the meetings led by some popular Islamic figures”, he added.

After their pleads, the suspects except Erkan Ç. have been decided to be jailed pending trial.
