Turkey’s Council of Ministers banned last month the strike of Şişecam workers for 60 days under the pretext of "threat to national security". Workers of Şişecam, Turkey’s biggest glassware company, were to launch a strike on May 24 with trade union Kristal-İş.

Zafer Ergin, one of the delegates of Kristal-İş union in Eskişehir, answered the questions of soL about the resistance in Şişecam’s Paşabahçe factory. “We don’t accept the right to live of those who don’t respect our lives," he said and added that they don’t accept the ban.

Ergin stated that the ban of the government is an attack on the working class and they will continue the resistance at the factory with slowdown strike.
