Iranian armed forces spokesman Abolfazl Shekarchi stated that no joint operation launched against PKK near the border with Turkey, denying the Turkish officials' statements for the second time.

According to Tasnim news agency, the spokesman said: “Iranian armed forces have had no joint operation with the Turkish army in the border area.”

Turkey's interior minister, Süleyman Soylu, stated on Monday that Turkey and Iran jointly conducted a military operation against PKK on March 18, at 8 am. After the statements of the minister, a source at Iran's armed forces also told Iran's Fars news agency that “The Turkish army carried out the operation against the PKK, but Iran’s armed forces were not part of the operation,” Reuters reported.
