A petition calling for ending the war in Syria and returning of the Turkish soldiers in Syrian territories has been initiated by a group of renowned artists, academics, politicians, trade unionists as well as cadres of the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP).
Signed and disseminated by the intellectuals, the petition was opened to the public today.

Hands off Syria
Soldiers must return home
We, the undersigned, see that our country has been dragged into an impasse, our children have been killed while being fought in the territory of another country, we have been humiliated in front of the world public and the peoples of the world, and our country has been positioned as the guardian of imperialism, the patron of reactionist terrorism and we think that action must be taken to stop all these negative developments.The facts are obvious, the situation is clear.
Our military presence in the Syrian territory must end immediately, and our soldiers must be returned to their homes safely.
