The event series "Great Humanity is 60 years old: Cubans Talk About Revolution" organized by Jose Marti Solidarity with Cuba Association (JMKDD) which will be held in İstanbul, Ankara and İzmir, started with a commemoration of Fidel at Istanbul Nazım Hikmet Culture Center.

The event started with a commemoration of Fidel Castro on November 25. 

Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Ankara, Luis Alberto Amoros Nuñez, stated how proud they are to observe love towards Fidel among people of Turkey since he has started his work. While underlining the importance of Fidel as a leader on the flourishing of internationalist solidarity mindset among Cubans, Amoros said that the drawings of Fidel by Cuban children which will be exhibited during the Cuba Week is a great example of the motto "Yo soy Fidel."

"HE HAD THE ABILITY TO STAY AS A HUMAN BEING"

JMKDD Chairman of the Board of Directors Yiğit Günay started his speech with quoting Raul’s words, "Fidel is Fidel" and stated that this statement has both emotional and political dimensions. He underlined Fidel’s struggle as a leader created through transforming the people of Cuba and stated that his extraordinariness is visible in the society too. He added to that stating the struggle is more powerful than ever in Cuba and underlining the words "Fidel is Fidel" as for how all people of Cuba understands Fidel as a leader who stays as human while doing superhuman things.

CUBAN CHILDRENS’ DRAWINGS ARE THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF REVOLUTION

Liliam Mendoza Estrada; Representative of The Cuban Young Communist League and President José Martí Art Instructors Brigade, also a member of the delegation came to Turkey for Cuba Week said: "When achievements of Cuban Revolution are on the table; education and health is the main themes that are spoken. However, culture is also a very significant achievement, too. Fidel said that the field of culture should be one of the first things revolution should save. The art instructors’ education programme which was created in this understanding started its way with aims of spreading art education in society and developing local culture."

As a graduate from the same program, Mendoza state that when they were looking for a way to tell and honor memories of Fidel; one of the best projects was this children’s’ drawings Project and said: "This is a very emotional Project for me." She stated that the drawings painted by the children whose age are between 6 to 13 also reflects the internationalist Cuba and underlined that those children are also members of Cuban pioneers.

CUBA WEEK

Jose Marti Solidarity with Cuba Association holds Cuba Week events with the theme “Great Humanity is 60 years old: Cubans Talk about Revolution” on the 60th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution.

The association stated that on the events hold in İstanbul, Ankara and İzmir; resistant island, revolution, struggle, socialism and humanity will be discussed on the second anniversary of Fidel’s loss and the 60th anniversary of Cuban Revolution together with people from the Cuba and we will meet musicians from both Cuba and Turkey.

Not only Ambassador Nuñez, but also a delegation from Cuba consisting of 5 people will join the events as part of the week.

On the events; speeches will be delivered by Juan Carlos Marsan Aguilera, the General Coordinator of International Relations of Communist Party of Cuba and Kemal Okuyan, The General Secretary of the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) and melodies will be played by musicians from Cuba and Turkey.
