European observer committee restrained in Diyarbakır

A committee consisting of European observers to watch Turkey’s local elections was restrained, two members of the committee were taken into custody

Members of a European committee who arrived in the Hani district of Turkey’s Diyarbakır city in order to observe Turkey’s local elections were restrained by Turkish police forces.

Sonia Helene Rosset and Noemi Colombo, two members of the committee who came to Turkey by the invitation of pro-Kurdish HDP party, were taken into custody in the District Police Department.

The committee members were then released after their statements were taken.
