Earthquake hitting northern Iran killed at least 9 in Turkey's Van

At least 9 people in Turkey's Van were killed by the earthquake hitting northern Iran on Sunday morning.

A magnitude-5.7 earthquake struck western Iran on Sunday morning, centered on Iran's Khoy. At least nine people were killed and more than 30 injured by the earthquake in the neighboring towns of Van Province, Turkey.

Turkish Health Minister, Fahrettin Koca, announced that nine people were in critical condition among the 37 injured.

Last month, a 6.8-magnitude earthquake in Turkey’s eastern province of Elazig has claimed the lives of 41 people.
