Kemal Okuyan First Secretary of the Central Committee of Communist Party, Turkey (KP), and columnist of soL news portal stands trial for describing Erdoğan as the ‘Avant-Garde Force of the West’, in the article published in the 14. The issue of the weekly Boyun Eğme (Never Surrender).

Okuyan states that ‘No one can hide the truth under the cover of defamation. The humanity, in the future, will define the current Turkey as a paradise for capital and a hell for working people.’

Okuyan, in his statement, submitted the following: ‘I don’t know whether Tayyip Erdoğan or the Attorney General view enslavement of peoples or clearing the way for international monopolies as a defamation. However, as a politician, if demanded, over the course of the lawsuit process I can itemise a long list of what Erdoğan has done to the detriment of the working people and his services to the big monopolies. No one can hide the truth under the cover of defamation. The humanity, in the future, will define the current Turkey as a paradise for capital and a hell for working people. I, as a communist politician, also say ‘Down with the wage-slavery system’. Through the same approach, all those that are in the responsible seats must file a defamation case’. Okuyan demanded his acquittal. The lawsuit will continue in January.

Two other columnists of soL Portal, Osman Çutsay and Volkan Algan, also stand trial for similar allegations due to other articles.
