Declaring that the referendum results and the ruling power have no legitimacy just after the polls were closed amid frauds, The Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) has made another public statement, addressing the government to ‘surrender to the will of the people’ while calling on the people to establish ‘Committees against Presidency’ across Turkey.

‘SURRENDER TO THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE’

TKP’s recent statement, ‘Surrender to the will of the people’, says: “We declare one more time: the referendum resulted in favour of the ‘NO’ choice, yet the ruling power took Erdoğan to the balcony, resorting to a fait accompli by means of the High Electoral Council and the state-run Anadolu Agency at its disposal. Appearing terrified, Erdoğan also attempted to give a speech of Presidency through such fait accompli.”

TKP’s declaration continues: “They have made a great mistake in thinking that the honourable and sincere people of Turkey would concede such large-scaled fraudulency. They cannot impose this stolen referendum despite they shamelessly challenge and say ‘We do not obey the rules’.”

Stating that the people would not surrender, the statement says: “Now they say, ‘Respect the democratic process and the national will’. Furthermore, they accuse millions of people, who claim their will and question the fraudulent referendum, of being putschist.”

The statement stands against the accusations of the ruling power: “You are good at making coups. You are particularly good at cheating our people, in cooperation with NATO, imperialist countries and international monopolies. Remember that you celebrated with firework shows when you signed a treaty through which you granted the country to the European Union. At that time, the communists of this country said, ‘Down with the EU imperialism’, waging a struggle against NATO and the US imperialism as well.”

CAPITALISTS AND IMPERIALISTS PAVED THE WAY FOR THE RULE OF JUSTICE AND DEVELOPMENT PARTY

Responding the government which accuses the people who claim their rights of “acting with Germany and big capital”, TKP’s statement continues: “The big capitalists and the strong imperialist countries led by the US and Germany paved the way for the rule of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) in Turkey. While these powers have deep contradictions and conflicts between each other, now they have had deep problems with their old friend Erdoğan, too. No one should doubt that Erdoğan and his team are ready to make concessions to regain the support of these powers. Big tenders, new privatisations, new free zone agreements, exemptions, privileges at the expense of the people.”

The Communist Party of Turkey underlines that if the capitalist and imperialist forces attempt to remove the ruling party just as they carried it to the power in Turkey, this operation would have nothing to the with the working people because it was the pro-NATO and pro-EU ruling party that considered the US and Germany as big friends and partners.

CALL ON THE PEOPLE TO ORGANIZE ‘COMMITTEES AGAINST PRESIDENCY’

Indicating to the history of the communists’ struggle in Turkey, TKP’s declaration continues: “Our history is the history of raising the flag against imperialism, monopolies and anti-secularist reactionary forces.”

Calling the government to surrender to the will of the people and immediately withdraw the adventure of these Constitutional amendments, TKP’s declaration states: “TKP will continue its legitimate struggle in order to strengthen the will of the people. This is the struggle against the capitalists, the imperialist invasions and wars, the Soros-led interventions, and the anti-people reactionary forces.”

Making a call on the people, TKP concludes the declaration: “As of tomorrow, we are calling to establish and organise the ‘Committees against Presidency’ everywhere, at all workplaces, neighbourhoods, and schools. We know that the people still continue to say ‘NO’. The people will never surrender you!”
