Oya Aslan, the attorney of hunger-striking educators, said that Nuriye Gülmen's health condition has weakened considerably and that the worst can be expected about her condition. Aslan explained that the immune system of Nuriye Gülmen is not strong enough to fight infections.

Aslan also talked about the health condition of Semih Özakça, saying that although Özakça's immune system is slightly stronger than Gülmen's, he is also in a critical stage.

The attorney Aslan noted that they were able to see Gülmen and Özakça only two hours due to their weakening health.

Nuriye Gülmen and Semih Özakça, two hunger-striking educators dismissed unlawfully from their jobs with statutory decrees of the AKP government, are on the 164th day of their hunger strike. They had been arrested on the 76th day of their hunger strike and are still forcibly being kept at the prison hospital.
