The collapse of the mine in Edirne, western Turkey, caused one worker trapped under lost his life.

After the mine in Küçükdoğanca village in Keşan, Edirne collapsed, a worker of the mine, Niyazi Akçay, lost his life.

Akçay was working with two of his friends 900 meters underground for the shift between 16.00-24.00. The ceiling fell off when they were working and Akçay trapped under. The other workers escaped uninjured.

Workers in the mind found his body after two hours of rescue operation. Niyazi Akçay was married with 4 children.
