Mehmet Arslan, a presenter on the pro-government Akit TV, targetted women once again by stating "We need to take a stand against violence against women, take precautions, and punish. However, it should not be done without investigating underlying causes, saying ‘but this caused that’ or underestimating male harassment or violence. Or simplifying the incident... In the name of a psychological, sociological analysis, it is necessary to think whether women might have contributed to it."

Arslan, who suggested that women wearing décolleté dresses were harassing men, claimed that they were encouraged to wear it. He made a comparison by saying, "Would it not be harassment if a man shows his sexual or seductive organs to a woman? Sure it would. That’s why people are killing each other."

Calling out to women who are wearing décolleté dresses, Arslan said, "Is this innocent? How could it be so? It is popular, it is famous and it is being encouraged. Men should complain and say ‘This woman harassed me with her low-neck’, that is right and that should be punished. It is a crime."

On April 19, another host from Akit TV interviewing people about the 2017 referendum on the street had harassed a woman who had stated that she had voted "no".
