US joint chiefs chairman Dunford holds talks on Syria with Turkey’s top general

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Joseph Dunford held talks on Syria and the Middle East with Chief of the Turkish General Staff General Hulusi Akar in Brussels on Wednesday, Joint Staff spokesperson Col. Patrick Ryder said in a readout.

"Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Joseph F. Dunford, Jr., met with Chief of the Turkish General Staff General Hulusi Akar in Brussels, Belgium today," the readout said. "They discussed the current security environment in Syria and the Middle East."

The two officials met while attending the Military Committee in Chiefs of Defense Session at NATO Headquarters.
