Two UK citizens of Iraqi descent were arrested at the Dalaman Airport in the southwestern Turkish province of Mugla over their alleged links to the militant Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), Turkey's state-run Anadolu news agency reported on Friday.

Two brothers, Ayman Barzan and Hariam Barzan, were searched by police officers at the airport. Police examined their social media accounts and found postings they deemed to be propaganda on behalf of the PKK and the Syrian Kurdish militant YPG group.

YPG is an extension of the PKK, which has waged a decades-long armed conflict in Turkey and is considered a terror group by Ankara and its allies.
