Turkish forces will not enter Manbij during their patrols near the Syrian city, Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve spokesman Sean Ryan confirmed in a press briefing on Tuesday.

"I can tell you that Turkish soldiers will not go into Manbij," Ryan told reporters.

Earlier this month Turkish AKP government and Washington endorsed a tentative deal to overcome a dispute over the town, in which the YPG would withdraw from Manbij.

Ryan also underscored that the United States and Turkey are not conducting joint patrols near Manbij, adding that their operations are independently coordinated.

On Monday, the US-led coalition and Turkish forces have begun independent but coordinated patrols along a demarcation line near the Syrian town of Manbji while planning for joint patrols in the future, the US Central Command said in a press release.

"In accordance with the Manbij Roadmap and Manbij Security Principles, coordinated independent patrol activities by Turkish and coalition forces began June 18," the release said on Monday.

The release added that both parties "are continuing to plan for combined patrols with a commitment to increase cooperation based on conditions on the ground."
