Turkey’s state-run Radio and Television Corporation (TRT) presents Islamist elements in its radio program on "art and life" with verses from Quran.

The Islamic impositions of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) continue in all fields of social life. Following the government’s authorisation of muftis (religious officials) for performing civil marriages, the AKP government attempts to designate the entire social life in accordance with Islamic principles.

The Turkish Radio and Television corporation decided to broadcast a radio program in İzmir, the western metropolitan of Turkey, where is known with its secular lifestyle despite the AKP’s religious impositions on social life.

QURAN VERSES IN RADIO PROGRAM ON 'ART'

TRT radio program in İzmir on “art and life” starts with Arabic verses from Quran without any Turkish translation of the verses. So much so that, even some TRT personnel is disturbed about the radio program’s content, which turns an “art” program into a religious format similar to the programs of Turkey’s Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet).

Murat Bakan, an İzmir lawmaker from the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), criticised the TRT’s İzmir channel of being the voice of AKP government. "What is the reason of reciting Quran even during an art program?", Bakan asks in a proposal he introduced to the Turkish parliament.

Putting forth that the TRT radio does not act in accordance to the state-run corporation’s official instructions, lawmaker Bakan asks why the İzmir radio program broadcasts Islamic elements and why it mentions Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan as the "Chief" ("Reis" in Turkish) in a biased way as some pro-Erdoğan sections prefer to do so. Islamization starts

Another lawmaker from the main opposition CHP party, Atilla Sertel ironically sets forth that the TRT should change its name into "Partisan Radio and Television". Alleging that all the financial funds of Turkish state-run radio and TV enterprise are utilised by the pro-government sources, lawmaker Sertel blames the government of abuse of religious faiths.

Under the lead of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Turkey’s Justice and Development Party rapidly continues to transform Turkey into an Islamic-based country with impositions in many fields such as social life, culture, education, private engagements.
