Speaking at the 6th Entrepreneurship Award Ceremony held by the Turkish Entrepreneurship Foundation on May 29, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s son Bilal Erdoğan, who is the Head of the World Ethnic Sports Confederation, said that "The Prophet Muhammad had set an example of an entrepreneurship by conveying God’s revelations to people."

Praising the conquest of Istanbul by Ottoman Sultan Mehmed II, Erdoğan also stated that the conquest of Istanbul led Istanbul to become an Islamic civilization centre again.

Mentioning that world transportation facilities become increasingly smaller in terms of technology, Erdoğan noted, "Do we now have the entrepreneurial spirit that has emerged from the Hejaz and spread along Samarkand, China and Andalusia? I think we should question this."

Saying that "when we talked about ‘entrepreneurship’, we should raise entrepreneurs who are able to think more globally," the Turkish president’s son stated, "I think we should not regard entrepreneurship as making things ready for the market that others do not think, but also considering it as a way to new places that others have not gone yet."

"An entrepreneurial ecosystem has two sides in Turkey: One of them is politics, and the other side is technical regulations that should be evaluated in regard to rules and principles," he concluded.
