Turkey's parliament approved on Friday a proposal to hold presidential and parliamentary elections on June 24, more than a year ahead of schedule.

Earlier this week Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan called snap elections for June 24, bringing the polls forward by a year-and-a-half.

The early election bill jointly prepared by Turkey's ruling AKP party and the fascist Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) will be published in the Official Gazette.
