Turkish army hits 30-40 vehicle convoy in Syria's Afrin

Turkish armed forces shelled a convoy of vehicles belonging to belonging to the Syrian Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) group on Feb. 22 near Syria's northwestern town of Afrin.

The convoy of 30-40 vehicles was intercepted 15 kilometres (9 miles) southeast of Afrin according to a statement issued by the Turkish General Staff.

It was carrying ammunition and weapons to the militants, the statement said.

Turkish government last month launched an air and ground offensive, dubbed Operation Olive Branch.
