Turkey's high election board rejects petitions to annul referendum

The High Election Board (YSK) on April 19 rejected the main opposition Republican People’s Party's (CHP) application to annul the April 16 referendum on constitutional changes over irregularities.

YSK head Sadi Güven told reporters that the complaints would be reviewed before noon.

Serious irregularities affecting more than two million votes, a shadow has already been cast over the legitimacy of the vote.
