The Turkish Supreme Election Council has issued an official list of six candidates who were registered to run in the country's presidential election, set for June.

The list, published Thursday in Official Gazette, includes incumbent President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan from Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party, Muharrem İnce from the Republican People's Party, which is currently the main opposition party in the parliament, and pro-Kurdish Peoples' Democratic Party's candidate Selahattin Demirtaş.

Meral Akşener from the fascist İyi (Good) Party, Temel Karamollaoglu from the Islamist Felicity Party and Doğu Perincek from the nationalist Patriotic Party will run in the election as independent candidates. All of them have collected the 100,000 signatures needed to be registered as presidential candidates.

On April 18, Erdoğan called snap parliamentary and presidential elections this week, bringing the votes forward by more than a year.

Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) declared that the party participate the general elections with independent candidates in various provinces under the slogan "This Social Order Must Change". Regarding the presidential elections to be held on the same day with general elections, the TKP calls for the people to turn their back on not only to the candidates, but also to this election and the political regime it represents.
