Turkey may receive the first deliveries of Russian S-400 Triumph air defence systems in 2019, the country’s defence minister, Nurettin Canikli, said Wednesday.

Moscow and Ankara signed an agreement on S-400 deliveries in September, with Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım making an up-front payment for the systems. Earlier in November, Canikli said that the purchase of the air defence systems had been completed.
