Turkey’s lira has weakened to a new record low against the dollar after US sanctions.
The lira extended its fall to touch a new record of 5.0 against the dollar on Wednesday.
The fall comes after the White House announced that the Treasury Department was imposing sanctions on two Turkish ministers over a detained American pastor who is being tried on espionage and terror-related charges.
