The Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) released a statement regarding the centenary of the Great October Socialist Revolution.

"An independent and sovereign country where the exploitation of man by man is abolished, unemployment is eliminated, people do not suffer from hunger and homelessness but enjoy free, egalitarian and contemporary services of education and health, enjoy free culture and arts, and where the discrimination of women and men and ethnic discriminations and pressures are abolished, and religion is removed from state affairs…" the TKP’s statement reads, adding that the communists are struggling for such a social system in Turkey and the entire world.

Recalling that humanity could come through much darker eras throughout history, the TKP argues that only a minority exploiting billions of people around the world derives benefits from the existing socio-political system.

Turkey’s communists show the first socialist revolution of history marking its 100th year nowadays as the proof of a humane society. "When the workers seized power on November 7, 1917, under the lead of the communists, the bloody slaughter of the First World War had not yet come to an end. The war had begun as a result of a cutthroat competition of big imperialist countries so as to share the world. Lenin the great revolutionary addressed the oppressed, 'Do not be part of this slaughter, rise against this system which dooms you to war and starvation'," the TKP statement continues, indicating to the historical role of the Bolsheviks.

In light of the Soviet Union’s role throughout the 20th century, the communist party underlines that the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, which had been an agricultural country prior to the socialist revolution, became one of the top industrial countries of the world by virtue of socialism. The TKP also points out the glorious Red Army as a determining factor in the defeat of Hitlerite fascism.

Indicating to the successes of socialism in many fields such as science, culture, arts and sports, the TKP states that those who allege that the road paved by the 1917 October Revolution came to an end should be dismissed at all. The TKP puts forth that the worldwide order is, indeed, at the point of death, which promises nothing but crises, wars, hunger and unemployment, environmental disasters, religious fundamentalism and idiot leaders.

The Communist Party of Turkey calls on the people to take the glorious road of the October Revolution with the aim of building a humane order. The TKP concludes: "We are in the era of imperialism and socialist revolutions. These two facts conflict each other. Either imperialism will annihilate humanity or humanity will win with socialism!"
