The Communist Youth of Turkey (TKG) made a statement concerning the ongoing prosecutions against the young protesters in Iran and declared solidarity with TUDEH Youth. TKG stressed that authorities must respect the legal rights of all those who are detained and execute the legal process in respect to the existing procedures transparently and without delay.

The statement of TKG also underlined that only option for the workers of Iran who reject to choose between collaborators of the foreign imperialist forces and mullah regime is to strengthen the socialist alternative.

The full text of the statement is as follows:

Dear comrades,

We stand in solidarity with Iranian workers and youth who have stood fast against the capitalist barbarism and imperialist opportunism during the protests since the 28th of December. We support the Tudeh Youth's demand for the immediate release of those who were unjustly apprehended during the demonstrations.

The privatisation policies which the mullah regime has been hastily introducing serve as the basis of legitimate demands of Iran's labourers in the recent years. People of Iran, who are becoming poorer day by day under neo-liberal interventions have shown that they will not kneel to those responsible for all this. Neither the Western imperialism which has aimed to expand its domination over the gulf nor the mullah regime which has made the Iranian people suffer for years cannot shadow the legitimacy of these reactions.

The youth of Iran who have been facing high rates of unemployment and futurelessness, have shown that they will not submit to the tyranny of the capitalist class, as evident by their massive participation in the demonstrations. Nevertheless, the retention of the youth who have not even participated in the demonstrations reveals the incompetence of the reactionary, theocratic mullah regime against the fury of the people. It must be underlined that the regime which has taken every measure, including torture to repress the popular classes starting from the youth, and the imperalist opportunism which has appeared since the emergence of the events are the two sides of the same coin which is the system of exploitation. The only option for the workers of Iran who reject to choose between these two fronts of capitalist barbarism is to strengthen the socialist alternative.

In this sense, we state that we stand in international solidarity with the Iranian workers and youth who oppose the privatization, corruption, unemployment and the gradually worsening economy.

Dozens of youngsters who have been detained on false accusations by the illegitimate mullah regime should be freed immediately. Authorities must respect the legal rights of all those who are detained and execute the legal process in respect to the existing procedures transparently and without delay. University campuses must be freed from military and security units.

Down with capitalist barbarism!
Down with imperialist aggression!
Down with religious fundamentalism!
Long live the struggle for socialism!
