Passenger plane of Turkish Airlines, which headed from İstanbul to the southeastern city of Adana was directed to Kayseri, a central Anatolian city which is more than 300 km away from Adana. The reason behind this change, which became an ordeal for passengers, was the President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s visit to the city.
Forced landing of the flight TK2470 was not the only discomfort of the day. All flights to Adana Şakirpaşa Airport were cancelled and passengers were made the wait in planes till the protocol of Erdoğan ended. President Erdoğan was in the neighbouring city Mersin on Friday for the opening of the city hospital and decided to pass to Adana.
