The arrival of the militia in Syria's Afrin, where Turkey is waging a military campaign against local Kurdish forces, is "natural," while the Syrian government forces are involved in other operations, Syrian President Bashar Assad said Sunday.
In late February, Syrian media reported that new militia units arrived in Afrin.
"The arrival of the people's militias in Afrin is natural, when there is an outside aggression, it is normal that various representatives of the society unite, as the Syrian Armed Forces are fighting terrorists elsewhere," Assad said, as quoted by the press service.
