Security Council proposes extension of state of emergency for 3 more months

Turkey's National Security Council recommended on Wednesday to extend for another three months the state of emergency that had been introduced following the failed state coup in July 2016.

"It was decided to propose an extension of the state of emergency for another three months," the council said in a statement following a meeting chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
