School's janitor abused 2 girls, principal blamed girls for wearing tight trousers

Students of the school, their parents, and several NGO’s gathered in front of the school in order to protest the principal and the janitor

A janitor who started to work this year at Atatürk High-School in the Bahçeşehir area of the Başakşehir district of the city of İstanbul, Turkey, was claimed to have sexually abused two female students at school’s corridors.

The students then told their parents about the incident, and the issue was taken to the principal. Accepting in his statement that he had abused the students, the janitor also told the principal that the students “wore very tight trousers”. On this, the principal said to the students not to wear trousers that tight.

Students of the school, their parents, and several NGO’s on February 26 gathered in front of the school in order to protest the principal and the janitor.

The District Directorate of Education announced that a prosecution was brought against both the janitor and the principal.

The chairman of one of the NGO’s stated that they would be pursuing the process, and see to that both the janitor and the principal are punished.
