A religious monument is going to be erected at the exit of the Bosphorus Bridge, which was rebaptized as ‘15 July Martyrs Bridge’, in İstanbul in order to commemorate the people died during the failed coup of July 2016.

According to the daily newspaper Sabah, the monument will emit ‘sela’, an announcement of the death of the deceased from a mosque, for 24/24. The names of the 249 people died during the failed coup of July 15, 2016, will be written on the monument and people will pray at the steps encircling it.

Another monument is also going to be constructed opposite the Presidential Complex of the President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Ankara, which was built in October 2014, replacing the Çankaya Presidential Mansion symbolising the new political regime.

Both monuments will be inaugurated on the anniversary of the failed coup on July 15, 2017, by Erdoğan, the President of the Republic and the leader of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP).
