Quran courses in Turkey's hospitals

"Quran courses" will be organised for medical personnel and doctors in a public hospital in the capital city of Ankara. Another step in religionization policies of public spaces by the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP).

Islamic Quran courses will be organised for medical personnel and doctors of Ankara Numune Training and Research Hospital. The men-only courses will take place three days per week.

According to Sözcü, an e-mail was sent to the medical personnel and the doctors of the hospital for subscriptions to the Quran courses. Health Ministry claimed that "the request of the male staff are met" and “there will be not only Quran courses but also those of painting, diction, tezhip [a sort of glamorization art] and pilates.
