Putin to visit Turkey next week for Jerusalem, Syria talks

Russian President Vladimir Putin will pay a working visit to Turkey on December 11 to discuss with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan a wide range of bilateral and international issues, including the situation in the Middle East and the Syrian peace process, the Kremlin press service said Friday.

"On December 11, Russian President Vladimir Putin will pay a working visit to the Republic of Turkey," the press service said in a statement.

According to the statement, Putin and Erdoğan are expected to focus on the implementation of major joint projects in the energy sector, as well as on the situation in the Middle East in light of the recent US move to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

Putin will visit Ankara on Monday "at the invitation of" Erdoğan, Turkis presidency said, adding that the talks would focus on the latest developments on Jerusalem and the situation in Syria.
