The parliamentary main opposition party CHP’s İstanbul deputy Sezgin Tanrıkulu presented a parliamentary question in June 2017. The answer to the question came from the Ministry of Finance, Naci Ağbal.

In his statement collected from the data coming from the privatization administration, Ağbal explained the number and financial amount of the public assets privatized between November 18, 2002, and July 25, 2017.

According to the answer given to the parliamentary question, slightly less than 60 billion dollars had been generated from the privatization processes during the given period.

It is reported that the public assets sold by the AKP government within 15 years include public shares in 94 institutions sold through block sales, public offerings and share sales; 10 harbours; 81 power plants; 40 facilities; 3,483 immovable properties; 3 ships; 36 mining sites; and vehicle inspection services.
