President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended a ‘yes’ rally for the upcoming referendum in the western city of Sakarya. Erdoğan read verses from the Quran during the meeting.

Making statements about the recent crisis with the Netherlands, Erdoğan said, “They have seen how our army and police struck a below on PKK [the Kurdistan Workers’ Party]. That is why they make trouble. They say Turkey cannot make election propaganda in Turkey.”

ERDOĞAN: ‘YOU WILL PAY PRICE’

Erdoğan continued: “A former German commissar called down the terrorist spy [Turkish journalist Can Dündar] who was sentenced here but fled to Germany. He said ‘we are making mistake as calling Erdoğan dictator. We often met him during the EU process’. Now the time changed. They did not fulfil their promise about the abolishment of visa. Now they are talking about readmission. What readmission? I do not buy it.”

Referring to the crisis with the Dutch government, Erdoğan said: “You did not let my minister enter the Netherlands, you did not give permission to my minister to fly to your country, you did not let the minister conduct meetings at the consulate building, which his my territory. You attacked my Turkish citizens with dogs on horseback. You will pay the price of it.”

Erdoğan also addressed the Dutch PM Rutte on the Netherlands’ election results: “Hey Rutte, you may have won the elections as the first party, but you have lost a friend such as Turkey. You lost. Germany led this stuff. We will also talk with them. I gave a list of 4,500 terrorists. They have done nothing.”
