The court has sentenced a teacher of a Quran seminary to 6 years in prison for sexually abusing one of his students. The father of the child sued last year the teacher who had allegedly abused the 11-year-old child in the boarding Quran seminary in Beypazarı, Ankara. No legal action has been taken against the dorm manager who covered up the sexual abuse with the aunt of the child.

According to the statement of a witness in the course, the dormitory manager tried the conceal the abuse, saying “We have done what is needed and sacrificed."

The lawyer of the complainant, Zeynep Baydar Gün, told they would file a criminal complaint against the dormitory manager and the child’s aunt who had concealed the abuse for two years.
