The Ministry of National Education (MEB) has prepared a "training" program for 20,000 teachers appointed on contract under the General Directorate of Teacher Training and Education.

The books recommended for the teachers in the training program are remarkable with particular sections such as "Democracy Adventure and the July 15 Process in Turkey" and "Humanitarian Values and Professional Ethics for Teachers".

As the publications of the Religious Affairs Directorate (Diyanet) and pro-government Ensar Foundation, which is known for its child abuse scandals in Turkey in 2015, are recommended to the teachers by the National Education, the impact of these reactionary attacks on education and teachers will be measured by the ‘‘evaluations’’ made after the seminars.

Textbooks including topics such as "national culture issues and our education question", "psychology, religious and our humanitarian values", "Islamic ethics", and "the Muhammad, the prophet" were recommended to the teachers by National Education at the seminar.

As part of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP)’s trajectory to Islamization process of national education, the Ministry of Education had previously allowed the Ensar Foundation, known for the national child abuse scandal, to hold courses at Public Education Centers with its own curriculum after the protocol signed between the Ministry and the Foundation. Ensar Foundation is known for its strong ties to the AKP government.
