Nicolas Maduro was re-elected as the Venezuelan president having got 68 percent of votes, head of the National Electoral Council Tibisay Lucena said.
Earlier in the day, she said that Maduro, 55-year-old former bus driver, had obtained 5,823,718 votes while his main opponent Henri Falcon 1,820,552 votes. According to the National Electoral Council, the voters' turnout amounted to 46.01 percent.
The statement was made when the National Electoral Council counted 92.6 percent of ballots.
