Kemal Okuyan writes: They say 'the rich have fun at Reina'

"Islamists claiming that the West was infidel were fed with dollars and marks for years”

First Secretary of the CC of the Communist Party, Turkey (KP), soL columnist, Kemal Okuyan wrote an article on January 1, 2016.

They say 'the rich have fun at Reina!'

“Reina (1) is an entertainment venue for the rich, I cannot cry over for them…”

It seems that there are such comments in social media. “Gentle” islamists needed to add some “populism” into this after uttering all kinds of threats against “new year celebrations” for days. After blood was shed…

Since when they became uncomfortable with the social inequality, we don’t know. Beside the pillage, plunder and exploitation became layered in the last 15 years since they seized the power, social injustice that Reina and such places represent becomes fairly innocent.

You would fuel cultural, religious, ethnic hostilities; throats would be cut, bombs would take lives by tens, this chaos would conceal social injustice, on false divisions laborers would fight with each other tooth and nail, and then you would say “Reina is an entertainment venue for the rich."

Alright!

Let's take a breath and tell it like it is. The massacre in the first hours of the new year is likely very to be the job of a “deep” organization. What is certain (not a possibility) is, however, that in our country there are thousands of “fanatics” ready to be in use of those organizations who are not that deep. Wonder what freed them?

Why we have objected tenaciously to the administration of the public sphere with religious references, and doing politics in the name of some “sacred values”? As befits the name, “sacred” cannot be argued, questioned.

We are talking about the political regime, who encourage 5-year-old children to be “martyrs,” casting preposterous fatwas via its institution called Directorate of Religious Affairs. This regime has been supported by the capitalist class who is the real owner of this system, because they put the poor toiling people to sleep.

Now everything is connected to “FETÖ” (2); it is, however, forgotten that Fethullah Gülen shone in Associations for the Struggle Against Communism, and was recruited for bigger missions due to its success in those organizations. Was the organization called National Vision (3) any different? The movement claiming that the West was infidel was fed with dollars and marks for years. Those are not unfounded allegations, but the relations that are proven with all their aspects, published into books, documented by honest journalists and registered as confessions by other not-so-honest ones.

What was the mission at the core of all this relations? To stop the left and the working class movement that aims with the claim to change the system!

Some half-witted are saying “don’t mention imperialism, exploitation”; in fact we have to bring them up in this very moment. What else are we going to do? Should we say there is a clash of civilization, we should respect each other?

There is no respect!

In order to protect itself, capitalism has to create hatred. In socialist countries that are regarded with disfavor, racism, warmongering, religious discrimination were constitutional crimes. The same constitutions also defined the propaganda for exploitation of humans as crime too.

Then people could show respect. In an egalitarian society it is easy to struggle against hate speech. No one shows respect each other when the filth or the system that is contaminated with injustice from head to toe.

“Fanaticism” does not shed blood for the first time. Bloody Sunday (1969), Maraş (1978), Çorum (1980), Sivas (1993)… The ground for such massacres has been fed since 50 years in Turkey.

The ones who committed the Maraş massacre were the same people that attacked workers on strike. Now it is being told that the CIA led it. Of course it did. In some aspect the CIA was always in power in Turkey. But it was beyond the interference of the USA; those were trying to stop the social awakening in Turkey.

Racism and “sacred values” are perfect tools to create an atmosphere of massacres and lynching targeting a part of population.

Now these tools are out of control, while competition is getting sharper in the world of international monopolies.

They are so out of control that the political power in Turkey, which we insistently say that they have no strategy, is surprised when each problem they think having been solved and put aside is replaced by a new one.

When war crimes were swept under the after coming to terms with Russia, the Russian diplomat was assassinated by a fanatic police officer, when they linked the murder to Fethullah, this time new year celebrations that were officially condemned were drenched in blood, cops wearing Santa Claus costumes could not stop the terror acts in which some people having stabbed Santa puppets were used.

Next year ministers too can wear Santa costumes, just to be emphatic! The minds organizing official Newroz celebrations and jumping over the "Nevruz" fires can also do that!

But they cannot resolve the issue.

No one can forbid doing politics with religious and ethnic references in this damned system. This system cannot survive without playing off the oppressed against each other.

(1) Reina is the name of the club that witnessed the massacre on new year’s eve.

(2) FETÖ is how the AKP and mainstream media call the Gulenist organization after the coup attempt, “Fethullahist Terrorist Organization.”

(3) The National Vision was the root organization of contemporary islamist movement in Turkey.
