Kemal Okuyan writes: 'AKP without Erdoğan' is an imperialist project

Kemal Okuyan, soL columnist and GS of CC of TKP, writes on the recent developments regarding Central Democratic Party, parliamentary main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), pro-Kurdish Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) and others.

Meral Akşener and her group, who left the ultranationalist party MHP and presented themselves as challengers of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, have been in preparations of founding a new political party for a while. The new party entering the Turkish political scene has recently announced the name of the party as Central Democratic Party (Merkez Demokrat Parti) by declaring that the party will be neither on the left nor on the right, but in the centre.

Central Democratic Party, CHP, HDP and others

Lately, such a command was announced by a liberal: "The mission of  [CHP leader Kemal] Kılıçdaroğlu is to hold HDP with one hand while touching Meral Akşener with the other."

Since human beings don't have three arms, the "left" remains uncovered in this case. It is worth discussing whether there is no arm or no "left;" however, what falls to the share of "leftists" in this equation, at the utmost, can be encouraging Kılıçdaroğlu’s shaky hand extending to HDP.

Very well. So it means that the "updated" salvation project of Turkey is the Akşener-CHP-HDP block! Not quite new, it's an old story actually, but it has sprung to a new life during the last referendum, and now being finely embroidered. Besides, it exactly fits the model that we call "AKP without [Turkish President Recep Tayyip] Erdoğan;" after all, having become the big brother of the project, Kılıçdaroğlu is obviously playing up to the ruling AKP and persistently pumping religionization and reactionism without caring a bit about the "left" which got disappointed for the thousandth time with the screams of "What on earth is this?" or "How could you do this to us?"

From CHP’s the [Justice] March to the [Justice] Congress, justice has gained more holiness and a small change in the quality of the reactionary politicians has emerged.

A long distance has been achieved and now it's the time to pray!

The project is nice. The alliance is great. And it's true, they can defeat Erdoğan.

Erdoğan shall be defeated, for good. He shall be defeated, but people shall win.

However, is it the people to win through this alliance?

Let me explain giving the answer:

The only power that will gather Akşener's group by the recently revealed name of Central Democratic Party, CHP, HDP and others who are well-wishers of these is imperialism and our big capitals. Don't you say, "We can hear the footsteps of fascism loud and clear; everyone has understood the necessity to join forces to rule out the danger except a small section." Weren’t those footsteps being heard yesterday? Weren't those who are now rolling up sleeves to establish an anti-fascist front against AKP calling on AKP one and a half years ago by saying "They will stage a coup against you; come and take us by the hand?" Wasn’t CHP busy with conjuring in Yenikapı at the AKP’s meeting following the failed coup of July 2016?

As for Meral Akşener... Her ears can't hear the footsteps of fascism.

Yes, this alliance which is pronounced often nowadays is a capitalist project.

This alliance focuses on dividing AKP before 2019. Everyone has now understood that Erdoğan won't be "defeated" under any circumstances in a presidential election without achieving this goal. If the Erdoğan front doesn’t face a problem before the election, they won't be overthrown through the ballot box. They won't, even if they get 40% of the votes. If they can't steal the ballots, they will steal the boxes. All others know this and they play up to AKP altogether. After all, Erdoğan is seemingly busy with darning the holes opened in his party...

Then, we again see that, as the block against Erdoğan receives the support of the western imperialist country, particularly Germany, Erdoğan craves for using the Russian card. However, Erdoğan isn't a revolutionary; he doesn't have a problem with capitalism, and the Turkish capitalism is highly pro-American and pro-German, so much so that it can’t slip towards capitalist Russia in peace. Therefore, Erdoğan's hope for salvation is, at the same time, his end.

Let me pause here and clearly summarise:

First, there is a project to serve the reactionarization of Turkey, capitalist atrocity and NATO-ism to rest and recover by stabilising an AKP without Erdoğan at the utmost.

Second, the worse, election results in 2019 force the government to play another card, a civil war.

Third, under the sharpening competition within the imperialist system, USA and Germany, for different reasons, doesn't allow Turkey to approach Russia above certain limits; a civil war also breaks out here. Many portents have appeared in Syria and Iraq!

Too pessimist?

Get organised!

Working people shall organise their own alternative on an independent, honest line and this alternative shall grow stronger and get ready. Ready to the above possibilities.

Don’t anyone start saying "But first..." One way or another, a feud will take place for sure with the wind of 2019. The revolutionaries of Turkey don’t have to put up their fight against the political power through sitting on others’ tails. Everyone is free to fight as they wish; no one stops the other. Moreover, left isn’t in force in an equation set by those consumed with vote calculations. If they were to decide to downgrade Erdoğan with an alliance that will also mobilise the talents of the Cemaat [U.S-based Islamic preacher Fethullah Gülen and his followers], they would do this effectively in all cases and cast the left as the lickspittle.

We can’t become toadies or lackeys.

We have to fill in another gap, to create a focus standing tall which relies on its self-power and won’t let people to be caught unprepared.
