Domenico Losurdo, one of the most important Marxist historians of Italy has lost his life at the age of 77. Losurdo, a philosophy professor at Urbino University, was also the president of the International Association Hegel-Marx for Dialectical Thought.

He has many books including Hegel and the German Heritage: Philosophy and National Question between Revolution and Reaction (1995) and The Marxism of Antonio Gramsci: from Utopia to Critical Communism (2000), Hegel and the Freedom of Moderns and Heidegger and the Ideology of War.

His latest book is Liberalism: A Counter-History.
