The annually held LGBTI Pride Parade has irritated fascist groups in Turkey once more time: Turkey’s Islamist and far-right nationalist group Alperen Hearths threatened the LGBTI community by saying that ‘‘if we want, we would raid it with 200,000 supporters to hinder the Parade".

Speaking on a TV channel KRT, Kürşat Mican who is the Head of Istanbul Office of Alperen Hearths threatened people willing to participate in the Parade by saying that "Even if the state allows, we will not. We will never let them hold this Parade. Wherever they decide to march, we will go there and close the area and the roads so that they could not come there in any case. And if we want, we would raid it with 200,000 supporters to hinder the Parade."

Mican continues to threat LGBTI community and accused them of 'organising local movements in neighbourhoods in order to disseminate homosexuality as a project' by warning Turkish intelligence.

He also said that "This is a project; a project of the capitalist, communist, imperialist forces. They want to disseminate homosexuality to destroy the unity of family, to stop reproduction, to terminate spousal relations and to prevent children who were born in consequence of the spousal relations from being able to become dutiful citizens of the nation,’’ by labelling LGBTI communities as a ‘dynamite’ laying on the origins of the family.

The Pride Parade had been banned in Turkey last year on the pretext of ‘Ramadan’ and many reactionary factions in company with the police had attacked LGBTI communities willing to march on the Parade.

Another Islamist and a far-right nationalist group called Muslim Youth of Anatolia had been previously called for preventing the Pride Parade, insulting LGBTI individuals with being  ‘inglorious’ and ‘perverted’.

The LGBTI Pride Parade is planning to be held on June 25th this year.
